South west France wines given UK push
Published:  12 April, 2013

Ninety-three wines selected by The Wine Gang from a south west France tasting of more than 200 wines will be promoted in the UK.

Paul Fabre, director of regional generic body IVSO, said: “We’re really happy with this year’s selection of south west France wines. It’s obviously quite a challenge to choose from all the different wines south west France has to offer as it’s such a vast and diverse area, however we think the selection represents the exciting quality of wines.”

The Wine Gang spent four days in the region.

Member Tom Cannavan said: “Once again, the tasting this year was impressive. The region is developing all the time, and we are really pleased with improvements we can see in many categories of wine and sub-regions each year.”

The selection is made up of wines from 13 different denominations: Gaillac, Cahors, Fronton, Saint-Mont, Côtes de Gascogne, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, Irouleguy, Marcillac, Pyrénées Atlantiques, Côtes du Tarn, Côtes du Lot, Comté Tolosan.

All 93 wines will be available to try at the Maison des Vins du Sud-Ouest at Comptoir Gascon in London.
