Signs of change at Oddbins

25 January, 2008

Oddbins is thought to have split its estate into three, according to size and location, sources have told OLN.

The strands are thought to be high street, city stores with car parking and convenience -oriented shops. These changes will affect ranging, prices and promotions within stores.

Managers contacted by OLN said the changes had started to take effect, but they were unable to provide further details.

One source said: "These are head office changes to create a few different positions within the estate."

Oddbins was unavailable for comment as OLN went to press.

A merger of head office teams for

Oddbins and Nicolas, both owned by French firm Castel, was completed in November.

Oddbins' newest store - in Shawlands, Glasgow - opened at the beginning of December. The shop is one of the larger stores in Oddbins' estate with a loading bay and free car parking, a format on which

the retailer is said to be increasingly focusing.
